Imposter Syndrome - Psychological myth or Structural reality?

Do you think Imposter Syndrome is a psychological myth or rather a structural reality of how people get treated poorly? Or is it perhaps we absorb childhood labels of insufficiency and carry these beliefs as adults?

Itโ€™s absolutely a reality. Every time I hire a new manager (as in theyโ€™ve never managed before) they go through it.ย

Itโ€™s very tough to get through, but once you do, you realize itโ€™s all in your head.ย

Do you think being in sales exacerbates it?

I think itโ€™s prevalent in all industries. Itโ€™s human nature.ย

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
It's real. But I think people often try to compare themselves against a one of a kind seller or leader rather than the norm. Being better than average is honestly spectacular.

Think about how many absolute imbecile managers, VPs, CEOs you've worked for and then compare yourself to that. Obviously strive to get better but people should work to remember that the competition is often absolute trash.
