In person meetings....but you go to their home office

Ive seen an increase in my customer base working from home and having teams that are spread out.

This kinda sucks cus I would like to do more in person meetings when possible, even if the key DM was in office but the others were not i think it would still make sense.

But this doesnt happen often enough SO I thought of an awesome idea of asking to come to their house and take the meeting in their office.

I think the idea of coming on zoom and I am in the bosses home office with her while the team is all on zoom is hilarious.

PLEASE tell me someone here has tried this???

Iโ€™d rather not be murdered, so Iโ€™d find a nearby Regis or similar and rent an office for the day.

To be fair, some days I would rather be murdered. This could be an option.

Today I had this feeling. So I went to the driving range and beat some turf to death. Chunky slices all day long.

I do this nearly every day. Fully support the therapy in it. ๐Ÿ‘

Edit: Chunk slicing cure- move away from the ball. Too close makes you come over the top, outside-in, and your hips donโ€™t get out of the way to let your hands through. Give yourself a chance to turn. ๐Ÿ‘

Irons and wedges are prime, I just canโ€™t drive consistently. Iโ€™m good at taking feedback from my miss-hits, so when I do step back and get my hips through we are golden. I just need to do that more consistently.

I can't imagine this would fly. People have families, pets... If they're not expecting business-related visitors, then they likely don't keep their home squared away to the point that they'd be okay with.

Would you ever really want clients to feel like they had to clean and organize just for you!? lol

Plus, who has a chair/space in their office to have that visitor?! Is this a kitchen table or dining room deal?

Unless you're a psychiatrist etc. operating a home office, that ain't going to fly.

Plus, as @poweredbycaffeine said, the whole murder thing.

Insurance? I hear that's a tough game but can be lucrative.

Yeah, insurance + investments. it was brutal, 100% commission, and it was feast or famine.
Looking back on it, it was incredible experience but only because I was able to leave and start a successful career in Saas, otherwise it almost bankrupt me haha

Short story: working in MM years ago, I had a fair number of tech startups I dealt with. Booked a meeting with one in a close by city, and decided to be in person. I show up, and itโ€™s โ€ฆ wellโ€ฆ odd. Itโ€™s a live/work set up, the tech bros had overslept, and they were in no way prepared for the meeting. In hindsight, itโ€™s funny as hell. But also completely sketch and potentially dangerous too. The local Peets would have been a better call. I wouldnโ€™t have literally gotten them out of bed for the meeting. Worst thing that would have happened in that case would be them not showing and me having coffee and mileage expense receipts.

I donโ€™t think that would work, maybe rent out a WeWork and invite the team? Donโ€™t think people want a sales rep in their house

Brilliant idea! Nothing says 'let's close this deal' like showing up at the boss's house with a coffee in hand, ready to set up shop in their home office. Just imagine the teamโ€™s reaction when they log into Zoom and you're sitting in their boss's favorite chair, petting their dog, and casually adjusting the family photos on the desk. Bonus points if you start offering to make dinner after the meetingโ€”really seal the relationship, you know? Canโ€™t believe more people arenโ€™t doing this already. Truly the future of in-person sales!

I've dealt with this and depending on the perceived personality either meet at a coffee shop, bar, or I've booked the hotel I'm staying at "event rooms".

I can't imagine going into a prospects home for a set meeting outside of door to door solar or cable.
