In sales what is a good typing speed? Do you feel this helps your admin game?

I would like to think of myself as an average typer. I generally do about 70 wpm, wondering if there are any faster sales savages out there above 100 wpm, or nah?

Does it help, or not really? Do you care, or not really? Just a thought I had this morning.

A veteran like myself has their interns type everything for them. To get them to type faster, I burn them with cigarette burns and roundhouse kicks.

Bein an elder millennial, there was a massive push for my generation to be SUPER GOOD AT TYPING. We had two classes for it in middle/high school. I blow people away in the office with how fast I can bang out a few emails. That said, the best leader I ever worked for type with his two index fingers.

I'm a super fast typer, and it definitely helps with taking notes/doing admin. I don't know my typing speed, I'd estimate 90+.

Having to learn typing throughout middle school was a game changer to me. Maybe not specifically to sales, but in general being able to type fast AND accurately is really nice. It's one of those things I'll likely spend time on with my kids if the school isn't.

Especially since if you're not going for speed, you can type more at a "cruising WPM" and not feel like you're struggling. I see a lot of people appear to have to put way more effort into typing than they should, and I have to think that is taking away from their ability to think and focus on the content they are writing rather than the act of writing it.

I feel the same way, not having to look at the keys or use the "2 fingers" method, has to be so time-consuming. We were taught in middle school also, had typing class and all that jazz. Very happy the school had that class now that I think about it.

I actually never thought about that until we had a day in the office and I noticed this older guy on my team "hunt-and-pecks." the dude literally types only with his pointer fingers. drove me crazy.

I think as long as you're not doing that you're good

Aka "Chicken pecking"... I have definitely seen that on my end also, especially when I did CSR roles. So time-consuming. No thanks.
