At my old company they had some internal SDR promotions that received based on achievement, and each step including AE had minimum requirements for application.
SDR
SDR 2 (increase in base pay): at least 4 months in the role and the equivalent of quota in qualified opportunities
SDR 3 (increase in base): 8 months in the role and the equivalent of quota in qualified opportunities
AE: 12 months in role and consistently hitting quota for at least 6 months
In the SDR role you basically got it as soon as the time passed and you got the opportunities, but the AE was a requirement to apply internally. It gave us all something to strive for.

Better base pay would be it for me. The UK isn’t quite where the US in base/target ratio. Targets are still quite inflated.
I had a company offer me £60k base for a £1.5m 100% new biz enterprise target. I mean come on.
