Inbound vs Outbound Leads

My org only works inbound leads generated by marketing. These are 30 day trials and our SDR's qualify them before passing them to AE's. No outbound. Ever.

I've started doing my own outbound so I can be in control of who I speak with. Also, marketing and SDR's let us down big time every now and then when they miss their targets.

Curious to hear what the mix of inbound/outbound is in other orgs!

I'm all outbound and like the grind of going in completely cold. Makes me feel like a winner when I schedule a meeting! Not that inbound is easy at all, but I know scheduling outbound meetings are few and far between many times.

Inbound is always great! But outbound is truly the only way to talk to your ICP and control your pipeline, but you have to be patient in how long it takes to close.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
I've closed some of the biggest deals of my career outbounding. Keep doing it. I worked two jobs where AEs basically weren't allowed to outbound because the SDR org had too much power. That shit sucks. I will never work somewhere again where that is the case.

I'd take both. Preferred would be outbound to get that kick

I mean, obviously focus on the quick wins/inbound. But having a solid prospecting/outbounding strategy can absolutely set you apart as a top rep.

Also, once the lead flow goes away and you're no longer an inbound business, you'll be prepared to go after your own pipeline. Learned this one the hard way

gotta have both and both need to do one thing, inbound only and outbound only. I time out inbound leads 21 days to make an opp or send to outbound, everyone has urgency thenย

Inbound leads will convert more, and more easily than the outbound ones.
The outbound leads will fall off more often because we went to their home asking if they have a leakage, not vice versa.
