Include a calendar link in your emails?

I see a lot of sales teams include a Calendly (or similar) link "so you can grab time on my calendar at your convenience."

I've never been a fan, and normally just try to get prospects to reply to the email instead. That said, I'm open to ideas.

Does anyone have strong opinions one way or the other?

Does your answer vary by sequence (e.g. outbound versus trial followup)?

EDIT: it seems like most people would say no, but a few people like the calendar link. how about putting the calendar link in the signature block instead of the email body?

It's good to have a calendar link but I feel it's rude to ask prospect to find a time on your calendar.

I had a link in my email for a year and not one prospect used it. Some people swear by it, but I'm ambivalent.

I would recommend asking for time, but have the link included

I only do it for my out of office message, otherwise I send options for dates and times every time I ask for a meeting. Ex: "If you're open to meeting, I've gone ahead and shared some times below. If none of the above work please provide alternatives or let me know if a meeting doesn't make sense right now"

I actually leave my calendly link in my email signature so it feels a little less formal. The link is only for a 15-minute meeting though, just something short and sweet

As an SDR I would get them to agree to a meeting first then send them a calendar link. But just sending on with out them asking is annoying.

Once they have agreed to a meeting a calendar link is the best and saves a bunch of stupid back and forth

It worked for me.
It's easy because it reduces a lot of to and fro. Just go and see a common time and book it.
Inbound, works like a charm.
Outbound, might or might not work that much.

It can come across as assumptive to put a link in the body of the email, especially if theyโ€™ve never expressed interest in a conversation. Like, โ€œhere, you find a time for us to meet.โ€

I used to have one in my previous role, but I don't think a single prospect took it upon themselves to use it.
