Interview brain test?!?

I just completed a phone screen for a bdr role in the SaaS space and after asking for next steps the recruiter said there is a required 30-45 minute cognitive test? The recruiter stated that you can go through the whole process, they wanna hire you and if you don't pass the test they cant hire you. How do we feel about this? The test is CCAT test

Also any suggestions on orgs to apply for a 3-year bdr looking for AE role.

I dont know how I feel about it. No cognitive tests are 100% proven or accurate. To some extent, they're subjective. Not a good idea to rely totally on a test

What happens if you're the whole package but you don't test well in general?

Haha. Workday does this for their sales roles. One of the tests has you double click your mouse as fast as you can whenever you hear a beep. Caused me to break the trackpad on my laptop. They are a joke in my book.

I guess I'm curious what kind of cognitive test it is. Are we talking one of those basic state education tests like when we were kids? A lot of employers are trying all sorts of different techniques to get the right candidates so I'm not too surprised.

Its a ccat test, I've updated the post but this is what the website for the test says
the CCAT is a pre-employment aptitude test that measures an individual's aptitude, or ability to solve problems, digest and apply information, learn new skills, and think critically. Individuals with high aptitude are more likely to be quick learners and high performers than are individuals with low aptitude

Yea that’s way to generic to be beneficial. So basically they could just ask to verify your HS diploma and it’d be just as worthwhile.

I have heard of companies using DISC personality test to see if your personality is a good fit with company culture/indicative of good sales people....Thought that was ok but never heard of a cognitive test for BDR's....
