Interview Duration?

What are you folks seeing for interview timing from start (1st interview) to finish (offer)? I have been through 5 interviews at one company over the course of two months and they haven't made a decision. I am clearly being strung along but wondered what typical interview duration process was here.

Thanks!

Take it as a sign to move on. Too many companies are hiring to put up with this malarkey.

Yeah fuck this. Do you want to work for a company this disorganized?

I've done as few as 3 and as many as 7. It all depends on the company structure and the depth of the candidate pool.

5 is normal. 2 months isn't.

Three seems to be the norm for entry/mid level positions, up to five can be somewhat reasonable for senior positions. Any more than that and it's a no from me bruh

Good companies who know what they want get through the process in a few days to a week.

Companies who don't know who they want or are old and slow can take a month or more.

Can you imagine what the internal contracting process is for a company that takes two months to decide?  Yikes.

A new job a few months back too less than 2 weeks and I was trying to slow the process down. That is WAY too long - lots more out there that will respect your time more.

2 months is too long, 5 interviews is annoying but not unheard of. If you want the positon. Setup a call with the hiring manager and tell them you have other offers on the table, this is your first choice (if it is) and give a deadline. They can’t fault you for trying to make the best decision for yourself and it shows initiative. Good luck friend

I'd 100% be cautious of a situation like that. I'd pass. It's just a sign of what's to come if you do get the job. They seem very unorganized

Move on. If it takes 5 interviews and 2 months to see if you are the right fit then you aren't OR they don't have their shit together.

Either way, it's a red flag.

If you're in the job market currently you have a pretty fat advantage.  5 interviews for any position is ludicrous and shouldn't be tolerated.  Especially the SaaS companies that have you being interviewed in round 4 by some basic ass AE who thinks they're top shit and asking you questions like, "so hoW DoEs YOUr shitTy IndustRy TransLaTe inTo SoftWARe SaLES BrO?"

Yea I'd move on, if things are going well they will be doing whatever they can to get you through the process

I've had 3 different companies interview me. The average was 4 meetings each. Each interview lasted 30-40 minutes and I always received an offer the next day. Just accepted an offer! Good luck.

I’ve done three at the fewest and seven at the longest.
If I’m referred in it’s always a much shorter process.

I have done 3 + 1 case study. I'd always ask them the timeline that they have in mind so I don't miss on other opportunities. HR also likes ghosting not just the prospects 😬.

All the best!
