Interview Prep Help?

Hey WR,

I'm applying for a promotion and I haven't interviewed in close to 7 years. I'm terrified and need some help. Has anyone used an interview preparation company in the past?

Never but I'd say your interview for the promotion should be treated the same as if you were interviewing at a new company:

1. Understand the role
2. Figure out what the hiring manager's pains are and align your skills and experience around a narrative that supports those
3. Be open and honestย
4. Identify your potential red flags before they do
5. Soft close at the end with an immediate ask for feedback

You've got this! Go crush it!ย

I agree! Thank you for this helpful reply. Iโ€™m applying for a Sales Leadership role. Are there any common questions I can prepare for that you can think of?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

ask for the split of OTE and base, how you are paid on others deals. Most sales leaders get a bonus and higher base, so less money comes from commission as you know it.
