Never but I'd say your interview for the promotion should be treated the same as if you were interviewing at a new company:

1. Understand the role
2. Figure out what the hiring manager's pains are and align your skills and experience around a narrative that supports those
3. Be open and honestย 
4. Identify your potential red flags before they do
5. Soft close at the end with an immediate ask for feedback

ask for the split of OTE and base, how you are paid on others deals. Most sales leaders get a bonus and higher base, so less money comes from commission as you know it.
