Intro Messages

Started a new software AE position recently calling on multiple verticals across a large territory. I have a target list of about 200 accounts I'll be calling on. would love some thoughts on short and sweet intro emails or other thoughts on getting some momentum going!!

thanks all!

Go to the best and brightest at your company. They are going to know a hell of a lot more than we do about what works and what does not at your company

Out of curiosity, were you given any sales training/templates that your company knows will be effective?
A lot of the helpful content on here depends on who exactly you're reaching out to and the details surrounding the account.

Unfortunately many companies don’t provide their AEs shit, expect them to do the job, then bitch at them when they do it wrong

Don't worry I'm sitting in that boat next to you. I feel like it's more of pointing in one direction and saying hey prospect over there

I spoke with my new SDRs at this company who was told scripts to use, but when a prospect is actually interested, they have no clue what to do

What do other AEs at your company do?

Modern technology enables you to find the emails that perform the best and copy it/put your own flare on it. Start there!

As @poweredbycaffeine and @UrAssIsSaaS said, work smarter not harder. Copying is the highest for of flattery.

Blatant plagiarism always works for me.  Gather samples from the rest of the team and leverage the content that works best with your own spin or flavor.

Why don't you spend some time listening to the performers and non-performers both to see what works and what don't for your business. That can be a good starting point

Come up with a cadence that works for you/in your industry (your peers should be able to help with this) and build from there. Some industries it's about getting as many emails out as possible, some it's about a strategic campaign. For me, I like a simple multi-touch campaign based around trigger events in specific industries.

Ex: Manufacturing industry
Monday - connect on LinkedIn/call
Tuesday - mailer or drop
Wednesday - email that addresses issues specific to manufacturing and how we can help
Thursday - call/LinkedIn message
Friday - handwritten note saying I'll circle back next quarter
