I feel (personally) as though field sales might be on the way out from a paradigm standpoint. People are embracing a virtual work environment more and more everyday, and COVID made that more apparent. Plus, with less overhead for inside sellers vs field, I think you’ll see companies moving sales orgs inside as much as possible.

As a field rep, I worried about this too... but my current company was all about getting us back out in the trenches.

Honestly, I feel like I got more done WFH and just traveling for meetings as opposed to live cold calls, but hey. If they wanna pay my mileage, why not enjoy the sunshine and get out of the hosue?

I agree productivity and efficiency are better online. I miss the extra touch in person, so I'd like to be mainly remote with a few travel days per month.

I feel that. I just feel like my productivity is so down on days I’m just prospecting in the field.

It may not last longer across the globe and a slight shift to remote could be seen in near future due to : improved productive time (travel time) + cost savings (a bit, as well!)

I think field sales is generally a waste of time. The time spent driving and standing around in waiting rooms could be used to make more cold calls and get more done.

Traveling is dope, but WFH is very nice on certain days
