Is gaming the new golfing?

Hear me out. What if you played a few rounds of CoD (or some other online multiplayer) with a prospect/customer instead of a few holes of golf? Has anyone done this?

I'm in tech sales so a lot of my clients are also big gamers. It's crossed my mind a few times and I've built relationships with co-workers while gaming but haven't tried it with a prospect or customer yet.

Curious what some of the pros and cons would be.

There's an interesting play here. "I found your @...If I beat you in CoD, you take a meeting..if I lose, lunch on me. Deal?"

I've never gamed with a prospect before, but have used common games to build rapport. Guy logged into a bridge as "Thor" around the same time AC Valhalla was coming out. Seemed like a natural topic to start the call with.

Haha that's awesome! I've definitely had conversations around it with prospects.

Only if you’re looking to lower your players stats to get a meeting 😂

Gaming is not the new golfing.

Its an interesting thought but most decision makers with signing authority tend to be of a certain maturity where they think you’re talking about fishing if you bring up CoD.

Great idea, I could use this as an excuse to upgrade my internet service. It would be a "career investment"

There is nothing better than getting a prospect wasted on the golf course with them stuck with you for 5 hours. They tell you thing they shouldn't, past stories, relationship problems, their deepest secrets. Now they wake up the next morning in full regret and no choice but to buy off you.

Saw a study recently that as long as you get them to swear first they're more likely to buy from you in that instance! haha
