Is it a waste of time for your SDR team to book you a demo on a Monday morning or Friday arvo?

Since being an AE, I have noticed that demos do not sit on a Monday morning or Friday afternoon.

I started to become a bit negative and now just assume they aren't going to sit. Is my negatively making them not sit or is this a real thing? Should I tell the SDR managers to tell their team not to do this so I don't sit there waiting for nobody to show up?

What is the worst day/ time in your demo sit rates

Friday afternoon is a dead zone.

In my current company we actually work longer weekdays during Tuesday through Thursday and take off every Friday at 2PM.

Meetings are meetings, I dont care when you book them for. However in our world, show rates on Monday AMs are absolute garbage.

I don't find either to be worst days but find other days to be better.

If there's a choice, I avoid both.  Monday because there's zero flexibility if a customer wants to cancel; you're scrambling.  Friday because if they do show, they're ready for the weekend.

That said, if the customer wants those days/times....I'm there.

Definitely agree.

it's tough for me because I do a lot of work with companies based in the UK and the EU, so usually 5-6 hours ahead of me. Makes morning meetings (on my end) inevitable, but avoids the Monday am issue for them.

There is nothing that I hate more than having a 5:30 am or 6:00 am call scheduled to accommodate the EU or East Coast even, where I get up earlier than normal, get awake enough to talk...and have the customer no-show or cancel.  So if you schedule me for those times, you cancel the day before or you show up.  Period.

That's the WORST. I've also had an 8pm one in Singapore do the same.

Not even an email..

Thankfully we engage so much before demo's that no-shows don't happen much at all.

Yeah, that's really it.  I don't like having meetings at that time unless I have an established relationship with the participants and I know we're unlikely to have no-shows or last minute cancellations.

Nobody wants to be pitched on a Friday afternoon.

Meetings later in the process? Sure

To the client? Tell them you're double booked and need to schedule for a certain day/time.

I may not be happy about a meeting booked on a Friday afternoon but I won't let it affect (effect?, idk) my performance. Treat every meeting with the same energy.

I'm a BDR and my SQLs always show up, I think in the past 2 months only one prospect hasn't shown. So idk what to tell you there, maybe it's something else?

EDIT:
I also want to say that I have the custom of asking the prospect when is the next day they have 30 mins available, they pull the calendar while on the call and I check that time with my AE's calendar if it works it works, if it doesn't I ask the next time slot closest to the suggested time, and that way I avoid booking a meeting on the worst day to book a meeting for the prospect, being a Monday Wednesday or whatever.

No idea why everyone is against the Monday Morning.

If a prospect is willing to take a Demo on a Monday AM - they're looking at this as the most important thing of their week, it needs attention immediately.

HUGE green light.

Friday is for followups. Monday is for easy wins.

Everyone is procrastinating and checked out on Friday, so I reach back out to the people stuck in the pipeline and just try to have some fun with them, with a goal of getting them back on the books for next week.

I schedule my easy calls for Monday so 1. I don't have to think and 2. Now I've got momentum going into the rest of the week.

No time is "bad" per se, but depending on how far out the meeting are booked, Monday mornings and Friday afternoons are def likelier to have no shows/rebook.

Aside from that though, I don't think it matters.

It's more about the content of the meeting and the followup.

Our team doesn’t even like to talk to each other  on mondays, let alone a client /prospect. I have to check for a pulse in our team 9am Mondays -Our sweet spots are Tuesday to  Thursdays it seems.

When the set prospect whose meeting has been planned and booked by SDR does not join on time and expects the same 1 hour, would you or won't you lend?
