Is it appropriate to follow up with a hiring manager after a panel interview?

I finished the final interview (for this round, not entire process) in a panel interview round including 5 different people over the course of a week and a half. That last interview was this past Tuesday. While I sent my follow ups to the interviewer and recruiters I thought about sending a follow up note to the hiring manager reinforcing my interest in the company and the role. even if it's too late at this point I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this before.

At what point is it overkill?

Yup. Don't be the only one that doesn't.

What you should have done is outline what would happen right after the panel interview with the agreement to touch base very shortly after the interview.

Good point, I’ll keep that in mind for the future. Thank you.

Same thing in discovery and demo’s. I always send a thanks for your time and this is what I’ve learned and next steps follow up that day or the morning after. If I can I then send some sort of case study or have a few things relevant to
their needs until the next meeting.

I do this in my day-to-day job but I guess I hadn't considered using that in my interview process. Thank you

Yes, early and often. Think about it like you are trying to sell them.

Absolutely, that’s what I was thinking too. Do you think it’s too late now to send a note?

Never. Just act like you would when selling to a prospect you spoke to a couple of days ago and wanted to go up the ladder.

Thank you. To clarify, the hiring manager wasn’t part of the panel interview. They were the first round.

Of course! Do it subtly. The number of times I've done it and not heard feedback from them (though not entirely honest feedback) is 0.
