Is it easier to sell to people from the same place as you?

For people with national territories, or field terry's where you've covered home digs and also outside territories, do you find its just plain easier to sell to people who are in or around the place where you grew up?

Ive always found people from Chicago a little easier to work with personally then in other places.

Well... is it?

Here’s an interesting take: I’m from India and I sell remotely to folks in the US. I also for a brief year sold to the Indian market and believe me, you, it is difficult.

I enjoy selling to the North American market, any day. And it’s easier, more straight forward. Lot of us Indians can’t say no and string along every salesperson who wants to sell us something. But we’re evolving I guess, lol

Yes cause I’m from the Midwest and us midwesterners are probably the most normal across the states. 😆😆

Yes. People would rather deal with people they share similarities with, be it coming from/living in the same place, like the same sports team, work in the same field, whatever.

No, i usually find people around here are uneducated, so I'm usually speaking above their heads.
I enjoy calling outside of my home base so to speak.

I'd say yes - if you're asking the right kinds of questions though, you can usually find something that you have in common that you can lean into to relate; but not always.

I sell to the east coast from the west coast and no hurdles there but if i lived in that city then thatd be a pretty sweet gig and that'd be helpful.

I don’t necessarily think it’s easier for me to sell to people in my home town, but if speak to someone from my hometown who has also left and is living somewhere else; then we always seem to hit it off
