I couldn't get past the first 5 one-line thoughts in this post...but yes, this person has experienced success a handful of times and now thinks they are god.

Yeah that was definition of TLDR. Ironic considering they were trying to make some point about short emails.

Ugh, I hate the popularity of one-line paragraphs. That said, the few times I've tried it, those posts always get more views, likes, and comments for me.

To each their own, but I simply don't like them. I used to rewrite them as paragraphs and post them in the comments.

Depends what your goal is. If I were trying to build a huge following on LI, then I would definitely employ the one-line strategy. But, I'm not, and I also don't like them. It feels too similar to clickbait for me.

Yeah, sprinkled liberally with the "I'm in the in crowd" references.

Bleah.ย

LI is unreadable these days.

Smart people don't post on LinkedIn. ย Rich people don't share pictures of their cars on Instagram.

I half agree with your sentiment.ย  Rich people don't post about their cars, but smart people do post on LI; their posts aren't about how smart they are, though.ย  ย ย

Sure, but intelligent people know they have to navigate politics, andย  Linkedin is absolutely part of that game. Maybe we won't have to play them one day, but for now, you do.ย

Unfortunately, it led to a cringe-worthy post.

At least you weren't rick-rolled.

I love that he was explaining how the briefest of emails make the best impressions. And then rambled all over his post.

"Sales is like gravity.

It's axiomatic and Newtonian. When you drop an apple in Croatia, it falls similarly to Okinawa. The best tactics follow suit."

An incredible example of how to fuck up and overcomplicate a simple analogy.

He's an idiot. Most of his posts are complete nonsense and I ended up having to block him because he spams invites to some kind of sales game or something that his company organizes.

Imagine that your entire ego is tied to receiving credit for inventing "shortening the length of your email". I thought Al Gore was the first anyway.

Had the chance to meet both - JM and JBay - at first glance, they seem friendly but when they ride the word it's just unbearable. Their approach seems toooooo invasive for me and most of the time their statement of generating curiosity falls into calling the baby ugly - no thanks.ย
