Is it necessary to network internally with other AEs?

Couldn't find this question in the search, apologies if a duplicate. So I've been working remotely since the start of COVID and recently came into a new role at a new company. So far I have a great relationship with my boss and his, the director of the sales engineers, a couple of the sales engineers themselves, and our marketing VP. I have an AE on my team who is my mentor who I meet with occasionally.

However, I HATE networking with other AEs within my team. I put almost no effort in to it simply because I'm more of an introvert and would rather focus that effort on selling and building key internal relationships to further my career.

Do you think it's important to network with other AEs on your team? Why or why not?

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Yes, it is. They can help you with things they've dealt with previously, probably have case studies locked and loaded, etc.

I think it's important to have a professional relationship with your AE's. Sometimes you can pass wisdom off to each other and can connect on certain opportunities

Dude you need to have relationships with everyone you work closely with. Think about it. AEs are hella connected. Why wouldn't you want to be a part of it?

I think it is, as they can help you with deals/navigating your career, plus building those relationships are always good to have even as you move on from your current employer.

My company is smaller, but I have good relationships with my counterparts. It's a good way to learn and continue your career development.

It's also paid off because one of our more senior AEs is very busy and has passed me meetings/opps when their calendar is too full. One has already closed.

It is not crucial. But it can be damn valuable in the future.

According to LinkedIn this may be an unpopular opinion but... An SDR's job is NOT harder than an AE's job.
