Quiet quitting is fake. If you want your team to do more work, pay them more. If you don’t have enough headcount to get work done, hire more. Working people to the bone outside of their specialities is stupid. Penny smart dollar stupid.

I'll go out on a limb and interpret quiet quitting as a way of doing the bare minimum to keep your job/stay under the radar. I'd venture that quota hiring is hiring based upon DEI standards that many companies are implementing.

I disagree that "quota hiring" has lead to "quiet quitting". I think "quiet quitting" is a way to work around your own schedule and get things done that are assigned to you, by your deadline. and if you're quiet quitting in the sense that you're just coasting until you get fired then it's coasting.

I think they are unrelated, but could be some correlation. Quiet quitting is not just in sales or in tech, it's across millennials and GenZ overall.
