Is this normal for a startup?

So I just started with a new startup only 2 years old and just recently decided to bring the sales team in house.

Well the "equipments" I have are:

Software tech stack

Headset

Nothing else, oh and no health insurance, which I didnt know until my 2nd day. This is a first time for me, I always thought companies provided them but its also my first time working for a startup this new.

Thoughts?

Not having resources is common at a (bad) startup. No insurance isn't. You're being taken advantage of.
Start looking for a new job.

Lesson learned: ask questions during interview.

We're both in twin cities, DM me if they ever ship that feature.

Lean stack, normal. No insurance, not.

As others have said, that last one is on you though. Seems like you're US-based, so I'd say get out quick in case you actually need that insurance.

Insurance is expensive for a small company. BUT a lot of start-ups will join plans that have a bunch of other start-ups involved so they get a better package at a better price. Instead of purchasing for 5-20 employees, they're combined with several other organizations of a similar size.

My friend, did you not ask about benefits package before taking a job? That's on you.
Live and learn though. I look back on my first two jobs and I learned a shit ton of life lessons that the now me would never fall for.
Best of luck

Amen. Asking about the basics (like benefits) is table stakes.

I never worked for a company that didn't have health insurance so never even crosses my mind. But yes definitely on me though 😕

No insurance! You're basically a contractor without the beefy hourly pay!?!  Bounce ASAP.

Huge red flag, with benefits like that (or lack of) they will struggle to attract good talent and therefore struggle to succeed. Great to get in early at a startup but if they already arent taking care of employees (and apparently werent upfront about no healthcare) that doesnt bode well for the future.

No bueno.  That is a very lean setup and no health insurance is not something I would (at this point in my life) tolerate.  Labor market is still pretty tight, if I were you I would look to take my talents elsewhere.

Yeah unless the person who runs this company is your best friend and you’re doing them a favor by helping out a little…otherwise, even the lack of equipment is sus.
