Job Hopping: does it harm your value?

In sales I’ve noticed it is not uncommon for someone to spend a year at a job and change to another. I see LinkedIn’s with one job after the other of 1 year and 2 months, or 9 months etc. In sales there is always another more lucrative offer out there and we are motivated by money. Is it really a red flag or a sign of someone that is truly driven to make money?

If you’re hopping under 12 months, definitely. 18 months you might be able to justify once, but not consecutive. 2 years you’re getting into a safe zone.

Personally I think 2 1/2-3 years is the sweet spot.

Yes if you hop within a time frame. If you are working on project basis, then good time to hop would be at the end of each project cycle

if someone changes jobs every 12 month I assume they are not performing. Once it's fine, there can be legit reasons. but try and do 18-24 month.

future employers do want to see a track record. (surprisingly some don't investigate it much)

Makes interviews a lot harder as training and hiring is expensive. If i am only gonna have you for a year why do it?

depends on when and how...gone are the days of staying at the same company for 50 years but some jobs you just need to move on others staying looks better.

Not familiar with whitey tightey... but it does remind me of The Rock’s Under Armour apparel logo.

Generally, big red flag. If a resume comes across my desk with 4+ roles in the last 4 years, I dump it, unless they're some wildly impressive positions.
