Welcome, August. Let's start the month with a hardcore training session that has nothing to envy Harvard. Jordan Belfort is one of my favorites when it comes to selling, ideal for small size teams.

In addition to Belfort's book - I recommend checking out the various training videos he's put up on YouTube. Good for building confidence in your persona as a salesperson. Let me know what you think about this video.

To me, Jordan Belfort falls into the same category as Grant Cardone, Tai Lopez, etc.

Pushy, annoying, huckster salespeople. They are why salespeople have such a bad reputation.

I hate his body language and how he is delivering this "training". Yes he is very chill and confident, but that's not the way to deliver enablement. His confidence is great, his excitement is great, as well as content also but stand up bro...or sit up straight lol... have some respect Jordan. Get him a bed please!

He does that because he’s short (5’7 or 5’8 I believe). As a short guy I’ve read a few studies that show it can actually be better to have posture like his. As when you’re short and you “stand up tall” your height gets spotlighted in a way that doesn’t help.

The more I learn about Jordan the less I feel like he was the best salesmen ever and the more I feel like he just figured out how to take advantage of wealthy people with confirmation bias.

It's a fair point. I like the way he segments and approaches the prospect. My opinion about salespeople can not be carved in stone because they change with the years.

I feel like he's just making up randomness as he goes in this video. Some sellers have a natural ability to read other humans, and know what to say, how to say it, and when to say it to move the needle. Jordan was one of these people --- which is why his "training" is about as valid as asking Brad Pitt for acting lessons.

It's been a while since I started following Jordan. certainly, his videos are holistic and provide just a general view. If you want to deep-dive into his approach you might want to take a peek at his book. The gain for me goes along with prospecting and segmentation.

I have split opinions on this guy, but his "Straight Line" has some good content as a newbie

It's good for people first getting into cold calling who need confidence.

Where it falls down is complex, long-cycle sales. Of course, some skills carry over but you need so much more than just what his straight line gives you.
