Junior AE Aggressive Outreach?

I had a AE from another company call me regarding a solution I am lukewarm on. BC of his persistence I engaged with him. He repeatedly asked for a call which I didn't think was necessary until I felt it was more compelling. He used the booking link in my signature to schedule a call with me knowing that I didn't agree to a call. Is this a smart tactic on his part or would you be turned off by someone doing that to you?

I don't blame him for trying. If you don't want to take the call then politely decline and call it a day. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I'd be turned off. I've used meeting links only after the prospect says "grab some time below". NEVER randomly grabbing time.

This feels like the meeting link version of randomly sending a calendar invite hoping for a call. If someone did this to me (I have the link in my signature), I'd cancel the call and tell them it was uninvited and to piss off.

Same. Way too aggressive and comes off as disrespectful to a prospect's time.

Ew, big swerve there bud. There's persistence and there's annoying/pushy. You can't strong arm someone into a sale.ย

Seems like old school car sales tactics. I doubt this would work with Senior leadership

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
It's certainly a move. I wouldn't make it a regular thing but not a bad arrow to have in the quiver for rare circumstances.

Seems pushy but I think it depends on how our conversations went and how young the person was. If its a young/inexperience rep and the conversation are always pleasant, I would probably chuckle, and give them the time and maybe some feedback on the approach they chose.

I'm not offended. I just wouldn't do it to someone else as I think it comes off as being unsophisticated.ย

That's true. Are you going to take the call or blow him off?ย

This is the risk of including booking links in signature - cant knock his hustle as he was using what was offered to him, whether the intended purpose or not of the booking link.

This is interesting, have you now tried their tactic to see the outcome?ย

I did it in the past as well. But always as a last resortย
