Junior Outbound AE in need of advice

Hi Sales champs,

I need some advice on building my funnel. I have automated my outbound email campaigns, scheduled & strategized my hours for cold-callings and LinkedIn outreach but I want to have a bigger funnel.

I have the following ideas which I want to get some thoughts from warrooms to see if I'm been realistic or naive

  • Reaching out to consulting firms offering my services to serve their clients
  • Reaching out to service providers in specific industries to see if they want to leverage our capabilities to serve their customers

Quick back story - I am working for a technology system integrator specilizing in Datacenter, cloud, and Data.

FYI I'm not the expert in this field but at first glance my thought is that these are good ideas overall, but as a Junior AE it may be out of your scope. Some companies have Channel Partner Managers or similar titles to do just this.

I'd speak to your direct manager before taking an action here to see how it's handled in your organization.

You've landed on some good ideas, but as @funcoupons said these tend to be covered by others roles at larger companies.

Definitely worth checking in with the manny.

Also really recommend chatting with one of the senior reps to see what they're doing to be successful.

No matter what your role is, you own your outcome. My opinion? Take action and as forgiveness later. I'm not a channel guy, but my channel guy has too much on his plate. If I waited on him, I still wouldn't have any new partners in my patch, so I went out and built that foundation myself.

Go get 'em!

Hey rainy, what's your exact role - is it an AE or creating more channel partners to generate sales?

Great idea, my company pays for “partners” like this. Some succesful people have the stronges partners in my world.

Are you direct, or channel? The motions you’re referencing are what channel reps do. It’s totally different than direct selling and requires very different resources.
I get where you’re going, you want access to their end users in the hopes they’ll bring the business to you but there’s much more to it than a simple conversation and then sitting back and reaping inbound leads.
