Last trimester

Hi beasts, this is my final trimester at my university!!

Once I graduate should I ask for a raise at work, look for a different

job? What would you suggest?

To give you some context. I've been a BDR for 4 years, in the same

company. Like every company it has its flaws but also, it's good perks. It's

not a job I would die for but I am happy at it.

Thanks in advance for the tips!

Misread your comment so here is my revised version:

Are you interested in a promotion? Chances are you'll still be a BDR at a new company, and with 4 years there and the fact that you're soon to graduate, I would leverage those facts into a promotion.

Congrats on getting near the finish line!

A promotion would always be appreciated! Should I ask for one? How long we're you a bdr before getting promoted?

Yes, I would ask for one. Or, at least ask for a path to promotion with clear expectations.

I was a BDR for 6 months before I got promoted but I had previous sales experience in a non-SaaS industry. Typically, BDRs will stay in the role for 2 years before they get promoted. However, you're in a slightly different position given you have not graduated so don't look at your 4 years like a bad thing.

I never studied sales - I'm a chemical engineer. But I just love this game. So yeah... If you like it + you're great at it + getting paid for doing it... i don't see why not continuing ;)

If you are happy enough, I would ask for a raise, worst case scenario it's a no. best case you get more cash! You can always look for jobs with your fancy new title while you are still working, there is more good than bad to look for other options!

BTW huge congrats!! The real beast is you!!!

Good luck first of all!!! And congratulations. I wouldn’t leave if you’re happy and can manage a good work life balance after school.

Sell your graduation into a raise or promotion. The worst they can say is no, and then set a timeline.
