Let me go back to my roots

I tried something. It sucked. Probably minor heat stroke.

Someone tell me how this dude, with less than 2 years sales experience, is confident enough to tell you to open a call by telling someone "I wonder if you can help, I'm a little lost"

Yes, SDR, you are lost. Why did you call me without doing any research? I would lose your sales path and try demand gen.

The sad thing is, he's probably getting paid a ton by hyper growth SDR teams to teach them what they can find on social media shitposts like this one.

With that, I'm back.

The "I am lost" can be good for low-level managers for the sole purpose of info-gathering. Like to confirm they use X solution before going to the VP level.
But you CANNOT be saying this to leaders and expect them say yes to a discovery meeting

Its a psychology thing, people naturally want to help somebody who's asking so as far as oeppeners go it isn't terrible but I agree it should be "i need help with x specific piece of info" then go right into it.

I'm all for shitting on linkedinfluencers wannabe or seasoned but this isn't the worst advice ive seen by a longshot.

Yes totally agree, people are willing/wanting to help, which I think itโ€™s great for info gathering.

But I do disagree that the message that is effective for high level leaders

Again not the worst LinkedIn advice, but thatโ€™s more on how horrible LinkedIn advice is

It's shitty only because it holds no context for the application of the technique.
You can't call up a CEO and ask this question.
YOU CAN call up a Manager and leverage your cold call to the CEO as bait.
"Hey Chad, I just called Thad and he said he wasn't sure who on his team handles poopy diapers, so I'm a bit lost. Can you help me understand who holds the keys to the diaper drawer at your company?"

I generally agree its not great at the ceo level but not as a blanket rule e.g. "I wonder if you can help, I'm a little lost I saw in your last earnings call you mentioned a focus on x but it doesn't seem like you're leveraging a y solution at the moment is that the case or did i miss the mark somewhere"
Is it the best option, no. Complete garbage? case by case

I am seeing so much of this lately. It is sending the wrong message to jr SDRs that all they have is the energy to do the work
