Leveraging two companies/products at once?

Hi everyone,

first time poster here.

So i work full time for a recruitment marketing firm and recently started part time for a robotics company.

Funnily enough, both roles essentially serve the same function, which is to help deal with the current hiring issues across industries. The first with recruitment marketing strategies, the second with server robots. Industries are also the same more or less(healthcare, food service, retail, senior living)

Anyway, what's the rule book on this. Is it off-putting if I bring up both during conversations with stakeholders. Or is it alright? Sometimes, the stakeholders are also similar as well.

Most companies are not cool with you working for another company while you're on the clock for them. Could also be an issue when dealing with prospects owned by either company - again, most companies are not ok with you using their data to pitch other products.

If they were owned by the same company then it would feel like a natural motion of the sales process. However, I'd imagine your employer would be pissed if you're pitching the marketing product one second but close with the robotics product.

That's like me going in to buy an F150, but the salesperson takes me around the block to see a Silverado because he gets paid more on that sale. Ford is paying him to sell a Chevy...makes no sense.

Got it. I appreciate the honest responses everyone. Certainly don't want to burn any bridges over a bit of extra money.

I don't think it will go well for you in the long run.

Like everyone else said, if you get caught expect to be out of both jobs.

There is something hilarious being able to offer both human and robotic solutions. I have this image of you providing shit people then sliding in with the slick robot to solve all the problems, almost like those old black and white infomercials.
