LI Recommendation from my manager

Hey 👋 savages,

I asked my manager at the previous company to give me a LinkedIn recommendation. He agreed, and immediately asked for one back, on which I said okay.

It has been 4 weeks since then and I still haven't received anything. Would you write a record for him at this point? I am not sure I will get mine.

P.S. Left on good terms, the relationship was fine, didn't badmouth anything or anyone. "No time" excuse expired by now!

P.P.S.Thank God for this community, there is no other place to ask!!!

Ghost write it. I never make anyone write on in their own, people are lazy. Send yours and follow with an email or text saying: “hey I ghost wrote one for you if you want to use it”

Definitely the way to go, I ghost write all of mine.

I just tell them I'm happy for them to change/edit, but something like this would be great. Most people just copy paste.

I would think from a manager they do.. Especially if it's a practical one, stating your wins. It's like an open reference letter (now those aren't needed anymore).

I'm more of a "pay it forward" person. Regardless of you getting one, it speaks highly of you that you will recommend someone you worked for. Plus it sends your former manager a really clear message :-)

I would ask him again he probably just forgot. If you write one for him then it might make him remember and he will do yours. If you left on good terms you have nothing to worry about!
