LinkedIn Account Director application.

Hey Savages,

Last Friday I got the confirmation that I'm in for the last round at LinkedIn for the role of Account Director.

The last round is going to be a role play, now I know I'm not a star at role plays because it feels unnatural to me.

Does any of you savages ever done this role play and perhaps could give me some tips on what to do and what not to do?

Thanks!

Update:
The interview went alright, used the tips and now we play the waiting game to hear back from them this week!

Congrats on making it this far! I'm sure you'll be fine. The beauty of it is it's not real, so there's no pressure. Be yourself, and close strong. Good luck!

1. They'll let you be the LI AE and themselves as a prospect
2. They'll let you drive the call - so that's cool
3. Apart from the problem statement, feel free to be imaginative. Tell them right in the beginning - "I've taken few assumptions like x,y,z, since they weren't mentioned in the PS." Take the assumptions which work in your favour.
4. What they want to see is how you'll act as an Account Director at LI. So act like one.
5. You're a SAVAGE. So go and Nail it!

Congratulations!    Don't forget to "close" - set that next step.

Be personable, easy to talk to, ask those open-ended questions.  They want to hear you, not stump you (seriously).

If you've gotten this far, they are interested!   This is just one of the final steps in the process.

Congrats!
- While your role play is short, make sure you move beyond first level questions and get to some second and third level questions. Try to truly understand your clients motives, needs, challenges, etc. so you have a clear path to set actionable next steps.
- Listen carefully for questions that my require you to pivot.
- Be conscious of time and demonstrate self awareness. If the role play is supposed to be ten minutes, let your client know when you’re coming up on time and take a temperature check to see if they have a few more minutes so so you can close on next steps.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply!

Maybe I should’ve been more clear in my post. I have this round this Friday!

Of course I would reply here how it went!
