LinkedIn connect request notes that actually work?

I've searched this here and found some answers, but not many.

To give some background, I'm cold emailing & calling a number of people in a sequence and LinkedIn is a part of that strategy. Usually I'll just send connect requests with no note - but I want to try adding a note and see if that improves my connection rate.

I'm looking for examples of connect request notes that actually work.

Thanks y'all!

In my experience it is best comment on something they posted about. If they haven't posted and I do not have any prior notes, I will leave it blank.

I am sure there are better ways, but I have seen good results.

Post and ideally ask a question. The moment they answer you connect.

The only two rules I follow with LinkedIn connection requests if adding a personalized note...

1) Don't try to sell anything in initial note.

2) Reference something....a post they made/shared, a mutual connection, or maybe something personal (same school, work history, etc).

Open rate has been noticeably higher for me.

And don't immediately give a sales pitch after they accept.

That's the worst - an immediate message, usually canned/template, to sell me something or ask for time.

Don't do cold DMs. When you see someone you want to connect with, write their name down and comment on their stuff for a week. Then send the message.

What I've tried today (on top of commenting & liking recent posts from the person:

- Hey ! Trying to connect with more people in the fintech space and came across your profile. Hope you have a great day!

- Hey ! Saw we had a mutual connection and your profile is amazing! Hope you have a great day :)

- Hey ! Saw your awesome profile pic and am a big fan of BRAND - hoping we could connect! Hope you have a great day :)

- Hey ! Big fan of BRAND and its online presence - I know you're a key part of that. Hoping we could connect, have a great day :)

- Hi ! Big fan of how BRAND is DOING X, definitely a lot I could learn from you - hoping we could connect. Have a great day!

- Hey ! Trying to grow my community of marketing pros and came across your profile, hoping we could connect :) Have a great rest of your day!

I'll update this post with the results soon :)
Any feedback on these?

I'm a huge fan of being candid if I am going to connect and also throwing some humor in. My experience is that it will bump the response rate even if it is a no for now. Something to the effect of "Hey prospect, I'm connecting because you are (Title) and usually (whatever product you sell) is used to solve for (specific problem), If I don't hear from you I can try out some of the smoke signals I've been working on next week.

the only thing i have seen work is to provide value on the COMMENTS that someone else posts (similar to bravado ...... 0.o)

If they see you putting in effort to engage with that they are engaging with then let them come to you

Has anyone gotten a real deal off LinkedIn? I just delete all the sales pitches I get through there. I don't sell on LinkedIn, it's for networking, not selling, IMHO

Yes! I know plenty of people that have gotten deals from LinkedIn. I've definitely booked meeting from LinkedIn as well

I wonder if it's my buyers, when I had to prospect all day every day, I tried LinkedIn a lot without success. I do like the advice to comment on their post for more social interaction. Would love to know how to make that happen
