These people drive me nuts. Every single day I see people talking about high detail personalization based on details that are essentially impossible to find unless they are 1) an enterprise business) 2) another B2B tech company 3) highly active on LinkedIn.
Maybe I'm being too curmudgeony and they are just talking about their world. But I see stuff like
- Comment on their posts on LinkedIn!
- Personalize based on any interviews or podcasts they've been on!
- Refer to their CEOs top priorities to their shareholders!
Uh huh. And all of that is totally applicable to the majority of sellers who are selling to Joe Smith's Autobody in Iowa City. Joe's dad started the company and passed it to Joe Jr and Joe Jr takes home 90k annually and doens't even know what software is.
It just irks me that the people posting this stuff act like LinkedIn oriented personalization is applicable to most people. Most buyers are not B2B tech influencers or fortune 2000 execs.
