Looking for Sales Career Advice

Hello everyone ,

I have 8+ years of experience in Sales which includes Pre-sales , new business development & Post sales. I've worked with Top Indian MNC's such as TCS, HCL & Tech Mahindra to grow their business & revenue in the Banking & Financial sector. I've generated an average of 5 Million USD annual revenue by providing services & solutions to global BFS Customers.

I'm well versed with the entire sales cycle and the market trends in the tech sector. I don't have much experience in product selling .

I've moved to USA recently from INDIA and currently looking out for new opportunities in sales roles. I have applied for multiple Product and Managed Service sales roles and been through many interview without much success. Appreciate any guidance or tips to help kickstart my career in USA.

No Product selling experience .
I have not received precised feedback for most of the interviews . more like " we have decided to move ahead with other candidates "

Remember, the interview is simply a sales call. Ask about their top performers and what sets them apart. Ask future focused questions like "So if I am in the top 20%, what type of income can I expect in two years? 5 years?" Ask about the expectations for the position and the timeframe. Get them to paint a very clear picture of the culture, expectations, and what is needed to accomplish the goals. Then tell them how you will do so.

Think a lot of the advice you're getting here is great. I'd focus on your network and find a mentor to help you navigate your next role. It's wild how helpful spitballing with a mentor can be in both identifying your next role and preparing for the interviews.

Turn on those sales skills. Do some cold outreach to people you respect and follow and ask. Itโ€™s a numbers game, someone will say yes ๐Ÿ‘

Shoot for fintech sales roles your experience begs for it, network on LinkedIn and other platforms to gain traction. Itโ€™s a lot more jobs than qualified candidates

Small tip: share your story on LinkedIn post; it will give ppl the opportunity to know who you are and what youโ€™re looking for โ€ฆ ppl want to believe theyโ€™re good ppl so theyโ€™ll sympathize and reach out to you. Itโ€™s just a start but itโ€™ll help with traction

you have the experience from what it sounds like. its all about how you tell the story of your career. pull on the strong experiences you have had to show people you know what you are talking about.

you need to connect the dots on how your prior experience will make you a good new business rep.

If you have the experience and it's landing or translating to your interviews, I would really consider how you're phrasing your sales story and why YOU would be a strong addition to their team.
