Looming comp plan change.

Freak out or keep calm and sell on? I know there are MANY diff scenarios, but just in general...has your company usually taken care of you or was it so bad of a change you left the company?

usually yes, usually the company's comp plan had to be aligned with sales otherwise, company makes more , sales make less and revenue suffers OR sales people make more, company makes less, and revenue suffers.

That's why it's important for a company to be transparent about possible comp changes w/ their reps. BUT they should also reinforce that any sort of comp change will not affect the bottom line of the sales reps.

But....I've spoken to a few people that have had their companies change their comp plans for the worse..so my experience was different than others.ย

I'm a bit of a cynic... I've gone through many comp plan changes, and I've always seen them get worse little by little. They'll spin it and under cut the material changes but it'll be a % point here, a reduction of kicker there.. "all for the greater good"ย

I'm hoping it works out for you and makes a path for higher cash but just stay skeptical and call them out!

Good Luck!ย
