Losing a deal isn't losing

If you have numbers to hit..the smartest thing you can do is realize when you've lost. The less time you waste on unwinnable deals..the more time you can spend with the ones where you have a shot. When I say lost..I mean it may not be lost forever..keep it in a follow up cadence..but keep focused on those that are likely to move within a timeframe that makes sense for your cycle. This is when you really win!

I mean, you’re just talking about disqualifying effectively which I agree with but if you’be been working a deal for 3+ months and it goes sideways, it certainly feels like a loss to me.

Sometimes you have to go through the motions and you get blindsided with an unexpected loss but thats part of the game.

totally agree!  Sucks to lose..for sure!  But knowing when you've lost and accepting it does allow you to focus on others...I feel you though..big time.

There are some deals that the sales cycle is longer. Other than that I totally see what you are saying.
