Lunch & Learns

gday all.

What is the nourishment of choice of those of us on here who do on-site lunch and learns with their customers? Im not talking about wining and dining the DM, im talking wider team product training.

As many of you probably already seen, im relatively new to the North American circuit so just keen to see what people think is acceptable.

Thanks in advance

Hey, thanks for the recommendation.

Used this for a meeting today and it was nice and easy. Used your referral link as well, so hopefully you get something for the effort.

I typically do sandwiches and salad but I always ask the local prospects if there is a restaurant of choice that the team likes

Sandwiches/wraps is usually well received. No pizza. Everyone does pizza for everything and it gets sickening after a while.

Not to mention greasy AF. Not trying to book an order with a greasy signed OF lol

The smell of old room temp pizza in a dusty ole boardroom is enough to kill the sale.

People will grab a box and run away to their office faster than you can say good afternoon. No boxed lunches.

I always ask if they have a preference. As long is it isn’t fuckin filet mignon I’ll pay for it. EZ-Cater is nice too

Sandwiches, salads, or lighter fair from local restaurants. No pizza or heavy stuff that's going to make people sleepy.

For that I'd send my POC: "Hey, wanted to get an order in for lunch. I usually get a sandwich and salad platter, is there something the team would prefer? Or a local restaurant I can support?"

I will ask if there's a company favorite, but I'd stick to sandwiches/salad with cookie desserts.   Many offices have really nice gourmet sandwich places nearby - or I saw Panera below, which also works.

I try and go local (and ideally a client) as much as possible. Depending on the warmth of the relationship/how many people are attending, I'll ask for orders or if there are any allergies. As the resident celiac at my office, I always make sure that there is at least one gluten free option and vegetarian option if I don't get the specifics from my point of contact.
