In Rona-times i converted my garage into a gym, so im blessed. When in the office the buildings i worked at had gyms in them super convenient. Once had to walk several blocks to get it. Problem is making it count. if gym is 10 minutes away, thats 20 min, workout for 30 hard (tough to get that HR up that quick) shower and change 10, back in the hour. My lunchs started being an hour and 15 vs hour. Had to switch up routine a lot to maximise, would do push one day, 20 minute HIIT cardio (40 min total workout cardio and lift) and pull excercises next day with HIIT cardio, legs day 3, then push/cardio again next, pull/cardio next for my 5 days a week.

Id rather dedicate an hour lift full body (do on weekends) but that above schedule helped give me clear direction and maximise time while holding me accountable all 5 days. Dropped 40 pounds in a year too!

I personally don't make the time to pack my lunch and I have removed fast food from my diet, so I go with the order as I go option.

Good choice. I like a toasted turkey bacon club with sub sauce and maybe a creamy chipotle dressing.

Pack always - I try to eat as "healthy" as possible. My lady made chicken salad sandwiches and buffalo cauliflower for lunch today.

Different from @paddy, when I was an SDR I ate like absolute shit. Gained 25 pounds, felt awful about myself, and my performance started slipping. I'll never go back to dog shit food, although I do enjoy a fried chicken sandwich from time to time ;)

I'd say we are kindred spirits! My lady packs me turkey sandwiches from time to time and I love not having to decide what to eat! I also went through a similar experience as you and lost my gall bladder out of it!  Rarely eat fried food now but when I do its a @paddy Fried Chicken Sandwich :)

This is an important topic. A fried chicken sandwich is the go-to for veterans. The novices and SDR's just beginning their careers have bought into this dogmatic groupthink that they need to maintain a healthy diet and consume nothing except salads and ground turkey for lunch in order to stay fit and save money. I have faith though. I too was once young and naïve.

I live in the Bay Area, so as much as I love the fried chicken place across from the office, it gets expensive quick lol. I try to bring my lunch 4 days a week, Friday is a treat-your-self type of day.

While working from home however, I typically make a massive salad. Helps me not hit a food coma in the afternoon.

Sometimes a sandwich.  Sometimes a soup.  Mexican tortilla soup this week.

We have an absolutely fantastic pizza spot about 6 minutes away from our office - I'm talking top 5 pizzas I've had in my life. Big proponent of picking one of those bois up, and chompin' through that for lunch for a few days (It's a very large ZA).

I'm on a low carb diet with limited options when eating out, so I'm currently dedicated to bringing my lunch. I fast until noon, and then eat stuff like eggs/avocado/meat/salad/smoothie/cheese/protein bar. When I'm not on a diet I try and eat out for lunch less than 2x week, it gets expensive and unhealthy too quickly otherwise.

Once you get over the initial 1-2 week hump of your body being confused as to why you're not eating carbs anymore, you can expect your energy level to increase. Almost more importantly, you don't get post meal crashes, or late afternoon slumps...it's a slow burn of energy.

Fasting has been much easier than I thought it would be. It took me only a day or so for my body to start getting used to it. I don't get hunger pangs and my energy is up.

Mainly stick with dinner leftovers if I'm packing for lunch, or make a sandwich.  It's been nice saving money and not eating out every meal.
