Okay, yes, I might be addicted to telling my story here, but hear me out.
Also, I don't know the difference between there and their. I still look it up, lol.
Before I got into the marketing world, believe it or not, I was a freight broker. Yup, that's right, a top-notch cold calling dialer. I think that job boosted my pride in sales. But I made a huge mistake when I told my ex-CEO that "I can sell anything with an attitude to back it up. Do you want to talk about humbling? I made 200-something dials daily with 2 minutes of talk time for SEO, and I didn't close one deal. Crazy right?
If you said no, then correct, you get a gold star. Because selling/informing/pitching to Director of Marketing, CEO, COO's they had no clue what SEO was. The sales process was so complex and challenging.
With SEO, you can not promise anyone a permanent spot on google. So I couldn't pitch and say I promise you this or that. Instead, I said, " you should be able to see an increase based on your industry" In Selling SEO, you need to have prior knowledge going into a role like that.
8-9 months later, I said my final goodbye to the Marketing world but with some excellent knowledge and great insight into other markets.
If there are any spelling errors, I'm sorry.
