I dont understand why you would do that. It's your job to manage. If you are closing deals, it tells your team that you don't trust them to get orders across the finish line.
You're drastically increasing your workload for no reason.

Do they have their own quota? If so, then.... very suspect.
If not, then it's probably b/c your sales plan is built for an Outbound motion and he/she is trying to ensure that people stay focused on that.
But, really depends on the intent/incentives imo

Not normal reeks of favoritism from a higher up that they're in a manager role but still carrying a bag for double dipping.
Nothing wrong with managers having a bag but it shouldn't come at the expense of their team.
