MM to Enterprise internal promotion, newly public company... input on if my RSU grant is egregiously low?

Moving into an ENT AE role Jan 1, and upon receiving my new compensation package, I thought there was a typo when it came to my RSU grant.

Some background:

  • Been at company for 4+ years
  • OTE offered at 280k (140/140 split)
  • RSU grant equivalent value of $21,250 spread over a 4 year vesting schedule. That is ~5.3k in RSU grants PER YEAR. Is this crazy low or are my expectations too high?

Mainly looking for input from other AE's that are at publicly traded companies! Thanks!

I work for a public company and received a $25k RSU grant vesting over 4 years for being promoted from SMB AE to MM AE.  So about the same as you and I thought it was low as well.  Unfortunately not much negotiating power when it's an internal promotion vs. external job offer.

it's similar to our annual "top up" of RSUs. Don't think it's link to promotions. Usually the initial RSU grant is much bigger than what you'll get in following years. Maybe it's different if you become VP

That does seem low.

I have been at my company for 2 years and my RSUs are valued at 20k a year.

But i guess it would depend on the stock price really.

How many shared are you getting per year?

Should I take a higher paying SDR role that beats the AE OTE of my current company, or get promoted to AE for the experience
