Mock Disco - Final Interview

I have a final interview with a series A start up and I'll be doing a mock disco call. Standard stuff. There is a request to put together a few slides for the presentation. They are not looking at or expecting me to discuss the company or pitch anything however.

I'm debating on if I should reach out and say, I'm happy to put together a few slides, however I personally do not feel slides during a disco call is necessary or helpful.

I also don't want to cause a riff and could easily bring this up later. Should I ask ahead or leave it be until later?

Nothing wrong with putting your questions on a slide.

Also, be very cautious about joining a series A in this climate.

I'm more concerned about Series A than slides or discos

Valid. I’m at a Series A now as well. Company I’d be going to is not a US based org and only has a sales team of 3 so it’s a new build out. Less concerned due to it being growth hiring and not a “rocketship” hiring 10 reps.. check me if I’m too trusting lol

Ill check you. If stuff goes sideways the satelite pilot is going to he the first thing to go.

Do you have any product market fit? Customer base? Playbook to sell? Good leadership that have done this before?

I don’t use slides in actual disco calls, but especially if they asked, I do it for interviews - I have found the standard intro, agenda (where you reconfirm timing), and next steps/questions slides generally impress and the “meat” of the preso is less important

Personally I don't use slides for disco, but if they're asking it's probably best to oblige.

Slides are fine, but DO NOT just read them.  That's a kiss of death IMO.

don't go series A in this economy.

As far as slides for disco goes its totally personal preference. I never use them for it, but that's just me. I know people who do and swear by it. IF I have a slide deck pulled up during it, it just sits on an intro slide with my name, title, company name, etc so they aren't staring at a black screen.
