More money?

How do I ask for more salary/ stock in my company?

I work for a fast growing start up company. We are looking to complete our Series A in the next couple months. This is the first company I've been apart of where I get stock and ya boy WANTS MORE.

Any suggestions in how I should go about asking for a raise/ more stock in the company?

By taking up more functions in other than sales. More roles = More stocks

Every time I've got a raise or more stock I did it by... asking directly.

Basically: I've done X over the last year and I think I deserve Y.

Don't beat around the bush, just order what you want

Ask directly.

However, another way you can do it is by asking if they’ll let you buy stock. If you really believe in the company, and you can afford to purchase stock, ask!

It goes a long way in showing you believe in the company.

They may even offer more options than what you should be getting for what you buy.

Just ask. There is no secret sauce. And don't ask passively. Be very direct about it. And bring all the accomplishments, projects, wins you've had thus far as talking points. Make sure to make an offer of how much you want as well. You can always negotiate from there.

Prove value, of course. But also just have an honest conversation with the person that would be increasing it. Nothing lost, lots to learn.
