More talk around the 4-day work week

I've been reading more and more about how companies are experimenting and some even implementing the four day work week. Apparently it's a big discussion in Finland right now. My company is based there but I don't see that coming our way anytime soon. I'm a million percent for it, just don't know how realistic it is

Does anyone in here actually have a four day work week?

Officially, no. But let’s be real, I do so little work on Fridays it might as well be considered a four day week.

Honestly same! The best is when I block out my calendar for 'admin work' and no one bothers me

Not sure the last time I stayed logged in until 5pm on a Friday.

You got a point. But I don't think sales team in general would look at a 4 day work week positively. It's either got to be an all or nothing kinda deal imo

Id love a 4 day work with with Mondays off and not Fridays. I live in a ski town so having mondays would be awesome and no one does shit on Fridays so I can get my own work done then or Ive effectively created a 3 day work week. Either way Im winning.

One of my old colleagues did. He said it would be great if everybody had it, but the issue comes up when clients/prospects want things to get done on your off days

That's the only issue I could think of. Otherwise I don't see any other downsides

I always come back to this when it comes to sales. I work globally, and 99% of people are Monday-Friday.

Sounds fantastic, but tbh, I get to manage my own time anyway.  Fridays are either very light or jammed up with all the things that didn't get finished the rest of the week, so I can balance my work week most of the time.

I guess this has more steam than I thought it would. 40% saying yes. I expected like 10%

Right! I've only read of a handful of companies offering it, but seems like it's more widespread than I thought

And now Linkedin is telling us that all these UK companies who tried it are not going back to 5 days, and 15% of the people said they'd never go back for any amount of money.

I HIGHLY doubt the US will ever do this on a wide scale until corporations figure out how to monetize it in their favor.

I saw all of that too! Someone just brought it up to our company again & the response was 'talk to your manager'. So I guess that's better than a solid no lol but I agree, I highly doubt the US would ever fully adopt this

I would love to have a company mandatory 4 day work week

Related question: How do you specifically find companies that offer 4-day work weeks? I have only stumbled upon a handful so far.

I'm wondering the same thing! The only ones that I know do it are because I've read about them in blog posts, but I wish there was a way to search for them bc I would apply to all of them lol

I dunno. It'd be great in any other job but I kinda think I'd feel too strapped for time/afraid of missing leads

I have so much flex already, it doesn't really apply to me.

Not 4 days but quite flexiSometimes too loaded and something light, so it's well balanced

My old org has moved to a 4 day work week and they’ve shouted it loud and far how great it is. Unfortunately, they suck and it doesn’t matter.
