@CuriousFoxย I've had a similar routine for a while and am curious to see how your sleep is.ย

Do you ever have a difficult time falling asleep?

Solid haha. curious about your Adderall prescription. If you look at my post history, I made a post called "AHDH + Sales". Would love to get your perspective, assuming it's a legit prescription. @CuriousFoxย

Of course it's legit. The fox doesn't want to be randomly drug tested and not have a cover, see what I'm sayin? ๐Ÿ˜†

I'll look for your ADHD post. Need. More. Coffee. ๐ŸฆŠ

I'm a night owl. I hate the morning.

Routine: Crawl out of bed after my second or third alarm, maybe shower, begin working. I think too many night owls try to be hyper-productive in the morning and just end up in shitty moods. I tend to knock a lot of the busy work out in the mornings. I do things that require a lot of concentration like creating content, crafting messaging, building proposals, etc., at night if I can.

My current routine:

Seven a.m., wake up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal
Seein' everything, the time is goin'
Tickin' on and on, everybody's rushin'
Gotta get down to the bus stop
Gotta catch my bus, then I see my friendsย

I'm assuming all of those posting a rigid morning routine are either single men or dad's who let the mom take care of the kids.... because I'm not seeing anything about getting the kids going too. But sure... enjoy those early morning workouts ๐Ÿคฃ

Yeah so true, Step Dad Sales reality goes like this:

3 year old wakes you up about 30 minutes before your alarm. 9 year old clings to the covers even though I have to get him to school in the next 10 minutes while feeding him and the 6 year and the dog cling to my leg.ย  Then we have the morning forecasting zoom meeting as I drive into the office while speeding to keep management off my case for being 15 minutes late.ย  Then the BS calls happen as I wake up and then start calling my actual targets an hour later.ย  I may or may not eat some of the oatmeal I keep in my desk.

Iโ€™ve always been a morning person, and this routine works for me.ย
4:52am - wake up
5:30a - workout (at home or the gym)
6:30 - walk the dog
7 - breakfast
7:30 - shower
8 - start work

Iโ€™m an hour behind most of my clients, but I havenโ€™t found starting an hour behind them to cause any issues. Maintaining consistency is the key for me, otherwise Iโ€™m sluggish and slow to start the day

Wake up 6-630am -> Adderall -> Make bed -> Some form of exercise -> Shower + in-shower meditation (visualize success in my weekly goals) -> Take dog out -> Team standup at 8:30am -> Ask myself why we have standup if there is nothing to cover -> SADNESS

5 am workout, then breakfast. I start my workday between 7:00 and 7:30 am when it's quiet/no distractions. I do low-value work towards the end of the day.ย

Ideal morning (2/5 mornings on a good week): Wake up, drink a ton of water, yoga or walk dog, rinse off, get ready, breakfast, work.ย

Typical morning (most the time): Roll out of bed at third alarm because I stayed up too late reading or Netflix n chilling. Get ready in a flurry (only put mascara on one eye - the opposite eyebrow gets filled in but not the other). Chug coffee and get to dialing!

6:30- wake up, medicate myselfย
feed all the cats
clean up after cats
7-8am - wait for my partner to stop hogging the bathroom (for real. I think I have a 5 minute window when heโ€™s making coffee to pee)
8:15 - finish washing up and run to the gym (itโ€™s four blocks away)
9:30 - throw water on my face and start working. Shower later because I NEED A SECOND BATHROOM FFS

cant wait to see how this will change once Iโ€™m back in the office..... ๐Ÿคฌ

Yes, I always make it a point to sit and enjoy my cup of coffee before I open the laptop. If I can, a morning workout does wonder for the brain and shakes off any stress or nerves I have before a big presentation. Either way, I think giving yourself 10-15 mins of peace & quiet with a small ritual like a bomb cup of coffee really helps.ย

Starting your day with a workout will set your day up for success. Pair that with 10-15 min of peace, quiet, and a clear mind = a pleasant and focused day!

530am first alarm, hit snooze
6am second alarm, maybe get up maybe chill in bed with kid and wife until 645/7 at which point I take the dog out
7ish toke up
7-8ish lots of cardio -ย
830 am, grab a whey shake and sit at my desk

i may send emails in between here and occasionally I feed the pet in the morning. This is a late morning if I hit snooze.ย

Curious if anyone else here tokes before working? I smoke everyday before work at around 6am as it helps me be more creative when working on high-value tasks. The buzz is almost gone by the time I get on calls at around 8:30ish.ย

For context, I like to spit my workday up with work from 6-10:30ish, a break with workout between 10:30-1, and work from 1-5:30. Obviously, this is an ideal day. Times change depending on when I have meetings but I try to schedule around a mid-day break as much as possible.ย

Curious as to whether anyone has some sort of morning beverage concoction that gets them fizzing! A colleague of mine puts a Berocca in his long black and raves about it...

I'm a night owl. I have zero interest in talking to anyone until I've got multiple cups of coffee flowing through my veins and purposely line up my day so that I have time to do so. The earliest I will schedule a call is 10:30 am and I do so as a last resort. I usually reserve my mornings for coffee & busy work and internal meetings and then dedicated noon - 6 pm to client calls once I'm actually awake / on my game.

I like to take the first 15-30 to set up my day. Look through my meetings and figure out what I need to do. I've also taken to blocking off my entire calendar in different segments every day so I know where to focus. It helps me optimize my team and prevents me from spinning my wheels or getting pulled into something I don't need to be doing/helping with. Doesn't hurt that my managers can see exactly how busy I am and no puts BS meetings on my calendar because the time slots blocked off. Helped a ton when I had dedicated SDRs because if they had a quick turn around meeting to book they had to come ask me and pitch their case.ย

Wake up around 5am to go to the gym for a run/walk, head back home and shower and get ready for work, head to the office around 7am. I take care of small task that don't require a lot on thought in the mornings until I'm more awake and alert for the larger task in the afternoon.

I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

A year ago or decade earlier I never thought Iโ€™d say this, but I need to be up early to have an hour to clear my head (listen to podcast/audiobooks and meditate for a few mins) ย and map my day out.

My body now just naturally wakes up around 5am (Iโ€™ll admit sleeping in doesnโ€™t exist for me anymore).

I just need structure and focus going into the day given how packed my days are and demanding my role is.

Wake up, smoke 3 cigarettes, squeeze a lemon in my eyes (for vigor), followed by 4 shots of espresso. Then, I try to close my first deal by 9am. Just kidding...gym, shower, coffee, scream at someone in traffic for potentially making me late, clean the pipeline, hit the phones. If I don't close anything, I take the lemon squeeze to the eye seriously.
