My boss wants me to quit but I want to get fired and collect unemployment, any tips? LOL

Hi everyone, if you read my last post, you know that ive mentally checked out of sales and am focusing exclusively on my side business and hobbies

So my manager has a talk w me today where he essentially said, hey its ok if ur not a good fit it happens, what do you think?

I was like, yeah im not a good fit, but im not quitting.

And he was like ok sleep on it and let me know tomorrow what you want to do

Help me sleep on it ladies and gents

How are you getting fired professionally? lol

Also side note, im hoping to get preapproval for a 100k line of credit to get my first house here and need to do that before I get fired. I know I know, I'm wild haha

Cheers Savages

Yours truly

I'd def wait to get fired. Not to make your day worse but losing your job may throw a wrench in your loan approval if you don't have other income or assets. Maybe compromise with your boss to keep you on until you get the cash...?

Yeah right on, i was thinking just that, should be able to get approved and then its a super small payment like 300/month plus renting out the other two bedrooms and 750-500 unemployment a week should be chillin

Just so you know, you won’t be able to close on the loan if you don’t have a job… the pre-approval means nothing. Not trying to be a downer, but you’d need to hold on to the job until you close

Yeah, I'd make some kind of effort and if they fire me, then so be it. Definitely not quitting though.

You keep doing your job the way you have been doing it, if you are doing things right he would not find a reason to fire you and if he does ,you can report him for harassment in the workplace

Eh, depends on the state employment laws. In many states, you can get fired for any reason...just like you can quit for no reason

Dang man, thats a tough situation. I would try to stay there as long as possible till you can secure a spot at a new company.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Make them fire you but don't do anything that's truly awful.

Don’t quit, but start looking for a new job. If they fire you so be it.

Stay strong mate, that bonus from being fired is worth, specially if you now someone wants you out so it gets easier to get it

This is a false narrarive. You can leave your job willingly and collect unemployment in sooooo many states.

Go through the application process in your state, make some calls. Don't just read what's on the internet.

You want to buy a house *and* live off of unemployment? If your side business isn't enough to replace your income from your job, you need to apply yourself at your job or find one where you will.

What if your side business goes sideways?
