Thought I’d give everyone the good, the bad, and the ugly on my new role as it’s approaching the one month mark (Warning: it's long):
The Good: Coming from a company where I was the first and only SDR, the training was non-existent. Upon joining the new org, we had a week and a half of onboarding. Although it was information overload at times, it was structured in a way where you felt very comfortable about the product you’re selling afterwards. The team in general has been very supportive and welcoming. Did not realize how important hiring in groups is, as I got hired with a few others and has made all the difference thus far. Huge bonus that I’m traveling for the first time ever with work next month.
The Bad: I didn’t find this that bad, but the lack of RevOps support has been pretty lackluster. I’m using a new CRM and a few new tools, but I was still able to pick it up as I had to be creative with my last tech stack and had free trials of anything I could get my hands on. The other new hires find it very frustrating and I can admit at times, I have been too.
The Ugly: I’ll preface this by saying if this is the worst part of my new role, I made the right choice. The new hires quickly found out which AE we would absolutely hate being paired up with. Before we officially got matched to an AE, our first few demos booked were randomly dispersed. This woman has already rubbed everyone the wrong way with minimal interactions. was over the moon when I didn't pair with her. Seems to be the common trend across the company.
Conclusion: So far I’m really happy with the decision I made. I know I’m still in the honeymoon phase so a lot can change but all in all, good start!
