My weekly interaction with marketing...

I swear to god every MQL i've had this week has more chance of buying a ticket on Daddy Bezos' Space Flight than it does buying a data license.

To those of you who say I shouldn't expect anything from marketing... It is their dang job but I also gave up hope a long time ago. Be a salesperson, be jaded.

The other day marketing bought a bunch of “hot leads” from some random vendor - all generic contacts with HQ numbers and no trigger events…..yay gotta love them peeps…. and are now claiming that we can’t do our job and convert them…. meanwhile they take 18 months to make a vertical specific whitepaper and blast it out….

I feel ya - every morning marketing celebrates how they have brought in X amount of MQLs…which none are actually relevant…the next day more…or which are ones where is sales lot have worked on and they just opened an email marketing sent. Out of all the shit we give marketing, if all else fails I may just start working in marketing as it seems rather easy
