ENFP checking in. I used to test as an ENTJ, but I believe your personality does change with life circumstance/age to some extent.

I'd wage that most salespeople are going to be E over I, and ENTJ/ENFP seem to be super common in this field.

Samesies.... i got ENTP early 20s once but think I was trying to be it. Have had it done a couple times for different orgs at this point and ENFP sticks

INTJ. Being introverted in sales has its advantages. Very easy for me to shut up and listen to the customer cuz that’s what I’m naturally comfortable with anyway.

Ayyyy, INTJ. I used to be INTP, but then I stopped giving a fuck.

it is straight up fucking wild how many of us are INTJ/ENTJ.

Great post, great question.

Amazing! I'm an ESFP, but I was testing as an ENFJ for years. The E and the F are dominant and then the others I'm in the middle.

I've never done the test/questionnaire - do you find it helpful knowing and are there tweaks/lifehacks to incorporate after?

I find it helpful to know. It's not the be all end all to personality - there are things that are said about my type that I don't find true for myself so I do take it with a grain of salt. That said, my profile is pretty spot on overall so it's helped me find ways I can improve (both professionally and personally,) and understand why my brain goes where it does in certain situations. Also helps me understand other personality types which is super useful when interacting with prospects or in your close relationships.

This was a great response, thank you.

Guess I know what I'm doing this afternoon.

To second funcoupons, 100%. It completely highlighted my shortcomings and made me realize I was fooling myself thinking I should go into management.

The one drawback I would say is that it caused me to "accept" the bad parts about my personality, since "that's just the way I am". Trying to not fall into this trap moving forward

Lol, I can relate. I hate management, but they pay me for it.

personality tests / categorization has never resonated with me and although it may be valid in some respects, this is a good summary for how i feel about it:

“By relying strongly on limited binaries, the MBTI gives an oversimplified view of human personality. But human beings are complicated. We don't fit into neat categories, but rather fall along a spectrum. People aren't exclusively introverts or extroverts or thinkers or feelers.”

Just here to shit on everyone’s parade. Carry on.

ENFP-T here… and i took the test 3 times cuz I was upset about the “T” but can’t escape my nature I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️
To be fair the extrovert part of this assessment came in at 56% and on the other tries it narrowly beat the introvert part. Sales and management has definitely made me more extroverted, but it takes a lot of alone time for me to fully recharge (And/or psychedelics) 😊

I did a Psychology degree in uni, and we all did it back then because we were enthusiastic little psych nerds who loved this shit.

At the end of the degree I was still testing as an INTJ, but just did it again off the back of this post - a few years of recruitment & sales later and I'm coming out as an ENFP-A.

Cool stuff.

Used to be a ESTJ, but shows me as ISTJ these days, guess the pandemic made me less extroverted.  Although I've always found fun in both being an introvert and extrovert.

INTJ-T. Ops team wet themselves and made me a job offer when they found out, but fuck ops. As buckets1 said below, nice and easy to let a customer tell you more than they should when you don't want to say anything in the first place
