Need some objective advice on next move

hi guys,

I’m an Enterprise AE interviewing around at different tech companies and there are two I really like. I’m trying to figure out which has more growth potential and it’s proving to be difficult since I think the markets they play in are both very compelling. First is compliance/security/assurance. The second is metadata management (data cataloging/lineage + data quality/profiling) and overall data infrastructure.

I have an offer from the first company and am anticipating one from the second in the coming day or two. I'm super torn and am not sure which space would be the best to go into. Both have excellent OTEs.

Does anybody have experience in either of these fields?

Second this.

If you flip the coin and are upset with the results then you know...

I'll second this, plus you'll have more to work with once you have the second offer in hand, and can see if there is anything more compelling about one or the other.

When ever I am torn between a decision, I usually go to my parents. I know it sounds a bit childish - but my father sometimes help me bring things into a different perspective.

Otherwise, like paddy suggested, flip a coin. Go with your gut feeling

Haven't worked in the compliance/Security but worked with them in the past and I find it compelling. Hopefully you get you answer here.

All the best!

imo I think the first option around compliance/security is more aligned with a growing market. I work in an adjacent field and I certainly see it continually growing till at least the 2030's.

AE’s - here’s a very client-centred way to gather information about ‘WHEN’ a decision needs to be made. Doing it this way will help you shorten sales cycles and build trust. Keep in mind - not every question I ask in this example is a perfect fit for every buyer, but should give you a good place
