Without anything else, I'd go with 1.

It's not all about the money though. Which are you more passionate about?

Based on that info... I don't know. I need more details of the two. Just looking at pay doesn't tell me anything.

Offer 1 pays half the commission of offer two. Offer one is public company with slower growth so while the base may be more stable the growth rate and commission potential at offer 2 will be greater. Deal cycles are twice at long at offer one.

to answer your question: offer 1 hands down.

and the company at offer 2 would have to be really fucking amazing to make up for that base.

is there a scenario in your mind where you take offer #2?

Offer two would provide more attainable and measurable track to sales leadership. Helping with major growth as company scales. Commission rate is also double the amount at company 1.

oh snap! ok these are KEY details to leave out haha.

so what are you wanting in your career?? and what type of leadership? Sales manager? DIrector? VP?

where do you want to be in the future?

I agree with the questions here. If you like the product and think you can crush it in option 2 then go ahead. Id suggest to ask for 6 month review on the comp to be on the contract so when you crush it and take more responsibility you get comped

have you ever had a 6 month comp review agreed to where after 6 months you actually get a raise?

I’ve never negotiated that which would be interesting.

i would not expect this to be something the company would agree too.

Doesn’t have to be written but verbally agreed…especially that the option 2 doesn’t sound structured as 1 so there is room to insert what you want and see their reaction. You miss 100% of the shots you won’t take

oh for sure ask. you are right you wont get it if you dont ask. But you NEED to get that shit in writing. its WAY to risky to not have that agreement in writing.

Higher base and OTE with offer 1. Unless there are details you're leaving out, the choice seems pretty obvious to me

Whatever the product that can be sold instead of "it's a good idea" product. I have went to companies before that was a "household name", only to get in and learn that no prospects ever heard of them before.
