New email or reply to previous email when sequencing on hubspot

Hi everyone,

Quick question: Is better to send an email as a new thread or as a reply when setting up sequences on hubspot?

I ask as i want to know which method is likelier for the prospec to open the mail?

For context: I recently started as a BDR at a scale-up based in London and am going to be following a training exercise where I have to setup sequences and reach out to a hypothetical logistics company. The "prospects" in this case are managers, dirextors and the CFO at my company. They'll all be playing various personas :)

Thanks!

Need another choice: It depends. If your sequence includes an email that asks for thoughts on your previous email, it’s a thread. If your sequence is educational or strictly context based with no CTA, it doesn’t matter. If your email is personalized and solution based, you don’t want to reference something they’ve already ignored - new subject line.

Majority of the time reply to the chain. Typically I don’t do more than 3 unanswered replies on a chain

It super contextual but most of the time I lean on using a reply. However sometimes starting a new thread is the answer to getting to the top of the inbox. It's all about seeing what works until it doesn't.

Really depends on the context. Said that, majority of the time I start a new thread.

The only emails I click on that are from presidential candidates are the ones that say RE: so go with the reply one

I voted new email, but I'm gonna be honest. I know SQUAT about Hubspot.

I mix it up. New email, new email, clap back on a thread, new email, clap back, new email, new email… until I hit the max. Then I see how that sequence goes and extract the templates that get the best results and use that as starting point for a second sequence.
